Astoria Barr
Director of Spirituality & Marketing
Canberra
I met our founder Mansukh Patel in 2002 when I interviewed him for a newspaper article.
He and the visiting Dru team, plus the Dru Yoga techniques, made such a profound effect on me that I moved from the Byron Bay area to join the Dru team in Canberra at the end of my Dru Yoga course.
As I had a BA in Journalism and Psychology it was natural to slip in supporting Dru with Marketing.
But during my life I’d also explored various courses in spirituality and personal development. So, when I began teaching Dru Yoga and Dru Meditation I drew on some of that experience too.
In 2010 I had a life-altering car accident that left me with multi-joint injuries and chronic pain.
I’m not sure where I would be now if it wasn’t for Dru. I’d probably be in a wheel chair, very overweight and I certainly wouldn’t tour the world supporting Dru in different countries.
I do my own form of modified yoga and balance this with a dedicated spiritual practice that carries me through life’s challenges.
I am very grateful that I’m on path that is dedicated to supporting people find freedom.
