Meet the Dru Team

Meet the people behind Dru Australasia

Our team includes experienced Dru teachers, trainers, mentors and volunteers who support students across Australia and New Zealand. Together they bring decades of experience in yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, health education, teacher training and service. Each person shares Dru in their own way, while contributing to a shared purpose of supporting wellbeing, inner growth and positive change

Angela Baker

CEO & Director

Canberra

As CEO Angela co-pilots Dru Australasia with the other leadership team members. She not only runs the yoga courses, but is also a champion of younger yogis and oversees the the World Peace Flame in Australia.

Ruth Gent

Director of Courses

Canberra

Ruth has extensive experience working in the corporate arena and brings her expertise to overseeing all of Dru’s courses. She has taught on many Dru courses and has a particular focus on post-graduate yoga therapy, backcare and wellbeing.

Astoria Barr

Director of Spirituality & Marketing

Canberra

Astoria is part of the leadership team and specialises as a teacher in yoga philosophy and spirituality. She also holds Dru Australasia’s marketing, online operations and website.

Janavi Scharbow

Founder & Director of Finances

Canberra

Janavi was CEO for many years before she decided to focus on succession training and maintaining the finances for Dru Australasia. She is a senior yoga and meditation teacher with many years of experience.

Mouli MacKenzie

Ayurveda Coordinator

Canberra

Mouli co-cordinates the Ayurveda courses, cleanses and events. She offers personal consults, has a passion for sharing wisdom from the Srimad Bhagavatam and is part of the Dru international publications team.

Suzanna Thell

Kids & Teens Coordinator

Canberra

Suzanna runs yoga classes for children and pioneered our Dru Kids and Teens yoga course in Australia. She teaches on our yoga courses and coordinates assessing homework and assignments .

Patricia Brown

Founder & Director

Canberra

Patricia is the original founder of Dru in Australasia. She is a senior teacher in yoga, meditation, prenatal and other Dru courses. Patricia has been a pillar in visioning and creating Dru into what it is today.

Greg Carlin

Ayurveda Coordinator

Greg co-coordinates the Dru Ayurveda stream in Australasia and offers Ayurvedic consultations. He is an experienced musician and supports Dru in Canberra and North Wales with a variety of projects.

Noelene Francis

Founder & Human Resources

Brisbane

Noelene is one of the founders of Dru in Australia. She was the director of Dru Australasia for many years. Noelene is a senior Dru yoga and meditation teacher and has pioneered our sound and mantra courses.

Deb Ryan

Enews Coodinator

Victoria

Deb Ryan has long been the friendly face and voice of Dru in our office. She has been teaching Dru Yoga, Meditation and other courses for over 20 years and supports the DPN in Australasia.

Sue Cleaver

New Zealand Regional Manager

New Zealand

Sue pioneered Dru in Aotearoa and oversees the Dru Aotearoa community with 40 dedicated graduates. Sue is a qualified Dru BreathCoach and an experienced Dru yoga teacher trainer and post-graduate teacher.

Julie Beynon

Sydney Team Manager

Sydney

Julie was a midwife and child & family health nurse for 39 years. She is a very experienced yogi and has taught on many of Dru’s courses. She oversees the Sydney team also co-created the Dru prenatal course.
